The defendants had a laptop, with which they worked as supposed advisors on migration matters.
Officials assigned to the General Directorate of the Administrative Service of Identification, Migration and Immigration, (Saime) managed to capture in flagrante delicto two subjects who issued visas and passports fraudulently.
The men were arrested on the steps of El Calvario, in Caracas, where both were delivering documents that had supposedly been processed by Saime.
Following the apprehension, seven labor transient visas, belonging to Arab citizens, were seized. It was also possible to find a bag, which contained more than 30 security cards for passport extensions, two telephones and a laptop.
Police elements reported that they are searching for another possible person involved, who has already been identified.
The 8th Prosecutor of the Public Ministry, in matters of identity and migration, was notified of the case.
Gustavo Vizcaíno, general director of Saime, confirmed that the agency works with the different security agencies to combat this type of criminal and his actions that attack “Venezuelan identity.”
