They capture extortionists who demanded Q11 thousand from a person – 2024-05-13 12:54:23

Following a complaint, the Anti-Gang Division of the National Civil Police (PNC) arrested two alleged members of the Salvatrucha gang for the crime of extortion.

According to information from the Police, those captured demanded Q 11 thousand in extortion from a person.

The PNC identified the arrested women as Marlon “N”, 39 years old, alias “Papa” and Anderson “N”, 19 years old, with the alias “Chirichis”.

In the operation carried out, three cell phones and a package with what they believed to be money were seized from Marlon.

Said subject has a record for the crime of illegally carrying a firearm in 2013.

Others captured

The Anti-Gang Division carried out an operation in Ciudad Quetzal, San Juan Sacatepéquez, which resulted in the capture of Elsa “N”, 19 years old, who is apparently part of the Barrio 18 organization.

According to the PNC report, Elsa has an arrest warrant issued by a court in Mixco, for the crime of extortion.

Myriam “N”, 27, in Estanzuela, Zacapa, was also captured for extortion.

For their part, in Puerto Barrios, Izabal, police officers arrested 19-year-old Lisbeth “N”, who had two arrest warrants, both issued by Sololá courts.

The first dated September 26, 2023 for the crime of extortion, while the other for the crime of self-fraud authorized on April 17, 2024.

Investigators from the PNC Anti-Gang Division reported the capture of inmate Jenifer María José Cayax, 29, for the crime of extortion. Cayax has been in prison since 2023 for the same crime in the prison for men and women in Puerto Barrios.
