This capture was part of the operation called Operation Cacique Marachí 2022, which seeks to guarantee “social peace on our border axis.”
Five citizens were detained by officials of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb), who found a shipment of ammunition and weapons of war, in the state of Táchira.
The information was provided by the strategic operational commander of the Fanb (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez, through his official networks.
After the military procedure, the possession of seven war weapons with several ammunition cartridges in the hands of members of a criminal group was detailed.
The members of the gang were engaged in extortion and smuggling in the border area with Colombia.
This capture was part of the operation called Operation Cacique Marachí 2022, which seeks to guarantee “social peace in our border axis,” according to the official.
On the other hand, Hernández Lárez reviewed another procedure where the seizure of two packages of alleged cocaine was achieved and the arrest of 4 subjects.
“In the state of Táchira, Fanb detains 4 subjects with 2 cocaine wrappers weighing more than two kg hidden in a vehicle,” he wrote on Twitter on Monday.
He also noted that the suspects were “trying to circumvent the Venezuelan authorities and cross the national territory” with the drug shipment.
