During the followingnoon of this Saturday, April 30, the calm in the Los Recoletos street market was broken because a man of American origin assaulted several women.
The alleged tourist tried, and sometimes succeeded, in touching the private parts of the women who were visiting the market.
The tenants, seeing what was happening, organized themselves and managed to hold him, despite the fact that the man made efforts to try to escape.
Finally, the tenants called the National Civil Police (PNC) and handed the man over to the agents.
Authorities identified him as Alexander Francis Badgley, 33, of the United States. The main victim of this man was a 19-year-old woman who was visiting the colonial city.
The PNC removed Badgley from the scene and took him to the local court to answer to a judge for his actions.
