They capture a Venezuelan who pretended to be homeless to steal

The woman, known as “the Doll”, was discovered in flagrante delicto while stealing from a house.

Authorities from the city of Cartagena, in Colombia, have captured a woman of Venezuelan nationality, whose criminal work consisted of theft inside residential homes.

The apprehended woman wandered through residential areas in ragged clothes, so she disguised herself as a person from the street. In this way, she watched the area and knew the movement and the steps to follow before committing her crimes.

The suspect, better known as “the Doll”, was taken into police custody when she was discovered in flagrante delicto, when she was in the vicinity of a house following committing a robbery.

The police report revealed that she expected to pull off a “big heist” by taking valuables from a residence whose occupants were not present. The front door raped her with a rod and the rest of it was easy for her.

However, the residents soon returned as they had forgotten personal belongings.

Upon entering, they noticed that the door was forced. They entered the house to look at the security cameras, and later listened as a gate was closed abruptly. Thus they observed that someone left the house with several bags in hand.

The owner of the house ran following her and caught up with her.

The complaint was made by the community to the quadrant number of the CAI Santa Rita, which allowed the National Police to arrive at the site and capture this 25-year-old girl for the crime of theft.

Alias ”the doll” had taken gold rings and chains; shoes and bags of well-known brands; and a safe with more than 6 million pesos in cash.

The stolen and recovered items were valued at more than 20 million pesos.

“This woman uses the trick of posing as a homeless person and sleeping in sectors of the middle class, in order to outline the houses with the best façade, to know the movements of the inhabitants of the houses and thus be able to commit the crime,” said Colonel Wilson Javier Parada González, commander of the Metropolitan Police of Cartagena de Indias.

The captured woman was presented to the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation for the crime of theft, and is awaiting the hearings for the imputation of charges and the request for an insurance measure.
