Summer is beginning to say goodbye and a good way to lower the curtain is by doing sports and physical activity with the family. This Saturday, March 2, the “Muévete Pedaleando” cycling event will be held, organized by the IND Ñuble and supported by the Municipality of Chillán.
The day will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the start from the Plaza de Armas to take a tour along Isabel Riquelme Street, Collín Avenue, O’Higgins Avenue, Paul Harris Avenue to reach the Quilamapu Sports Complex, where activities will be carried out as a sample workshops, zumba, face painting, among others.
The mayor of Chillán, Camilo Benavente, projects an attendance of close to two thousand people, taking previous events as a reference. “We have seen with favor the activity around the bicycle, the ones we have carried out together with the IND have been massive, that is why as a Municipality we have taken care to comply with all the safety regulations so that people can participate with peace of mind. and with support from Carabineros throughout the journey. In addition, we have articulated different instances in Quilamapu to finalize the summer activities.”
The Seremi of Sports, Julio Jorquera, highlighted that the activity will include a raffle for two bicycles, which is why he emphasized the invitation to participate in the day. “It will be a family and recreational bike ride that ends the summer, since we are regarding to start the school year. It is open to the entire Ñublensina family, from boys and girls to older adults.”
Annie Fuentes, regional director(s) of the National Sports Institute, explained that cycling is part of the Summer Plan executed by the IND in all regional capitals. “We leave the entire community invited to once once more demonstrate that sport is lived in Ñuble.”
Registration is made at www.ind.cl and the minimum age for participation is 4 years old. The delivery of a sports backpack to the first two thousand registered to arrive at the Plaza de Armas on the day of the cycle is contemplated.
