They beat a hairdresser to death after accusing him of having stolen a cell phone

As a result of the beating that some neighbors gave him, hairdresser Johnny Drahcir Maldonado, 27, died in a sector of the Kennedy urbanization in the Macarao parish, southwest of Caracas.

Johnny was studying performing arts at Unearte (National Experimental University of the Arts). His relatives reported that they had falsely accused him of having stolen a cell phone, ambushed him, locked him in a house and five people beat him with blunt objects.

His body presented lacerations, bruises and head trauma.

Johnny claimed that he had not committed the robbery and several neighbors also considered him innocent.

Two women who were part of the aggressor group are detained and the Cicpc is investigating the responsibilities they may have in the homicide.

Another victim of the violence was the merchant Ivan Jesús Lamus, 24, shot to death in the La Acequia sector, San José de Carapita neighborhood, Antimano parish.

Lamus returned from work (he had a store in La Yaguara) on Friday followingnoon. He got dressed and left at 11:00 at night without saying where he was going.

In the early hours of the morning, an unknown person knocked on the door and reported that the merchant had been shot.

He was taken to the Miguel Pérez Carreño hospital, where he died from a gunshot wound that went through his back and exited through his chest. The projectile affected a lung and caused a hemorrhage.
