A few hours ago, the site specialized in the world of cinema and series Variety reported that HBO is developing a project related to Game of Thrones.
According to the article published in the aforementioned medium, it is another prequel to the series that will focus on the conquest of Westeros by Aegon I. Likewise, they reported that it is possible that it is a series and also a feature film.
The outlet reports that the project is in very early stages, but a lot of concern and anxiety has been aroused on social media.
Likewise, the sources revealed to Variety that, if it were a feature film, HBO would be behind it together with Warner Bros. However, that issue has not yet been resolved.
The series and the film would narrate how Aegon and his sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys, with the help of their three dragons and their army managed to conquer six of the seven kingdoms of Westeros.
As many fans of the books of Game of Thrones, Aegon I became the first true king of Westeros, and also the first to sit on the Iron Throne. In addition, he is considered the “founder” of the Targaryen dynasty. For context, Viserys I of House of the Dragon (played by Paddy Considine) is the great-great-grandson of Aegon and Rhaenys.
