Before his departure, the legend of the former Argentine national team, Diego Maradona, praised the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, describing him as smart and fast.
In an old interview with the Egyptian “On Sport” channel, Maradona answered a question regarding Salah, the Egyptian national team player and Liverpool, saying: Mohamed Salah is a smart player who plays with his head and foot, and moves quickly left and right in a clear impact on Italian play.
He added, “I think that Salah is already a competitor with Ronaldo and Messi for the Ballon d’Or, following everything he did with Liverpool this season, he is at his best now.”
Maradona concluded his words by saying: “Salah is good at attacking roles, and provides a lot of decisive passes to Roberto Firmino, his colleague in Liverpool, and I think he will be one of the stars of the World Cup.
