They ask for the expulsion of right-wing Argentine deputies for visiting genocidaires

The Central Workers of Argentina-Autonomous (CTA-A) today demanded the expulsion from the Chamber of Deputies of six members of La Libertad Avanza (LLA) who visited detainees for crimes perpetrated during the last civil-military dictatorship (1976-1983). ).

In a statement, the CTA-A condemned this fact and any attempt to deny, make invisible or subjugate the flags of Memory, Truth and Justice.

Recently, the media reported that LLA legislators frequented Alfredo Astiz, Raúl Guglielminetti, Carlos Suárez (son), Antonio Pernías and Adolfo Donda, among others who were tried and imprisoned for kidnapping, torturing, murdering and disappearing thousands of people, including children.

The visit to these genocidaires was strongly criticized by unions, politicians, social organizations and by former president Cristina Fernández, who warned about the intentions to present an appeal to achieve their release.

The deputies who went to the Ezeiza prison are Beltrán Benedit, Guillermo Montenegro, Alida Ferreyra, Lourdes Arrieta, María Fernanda Araujo and Rocío Bonacci.

In its message, the CTA-A expressed that what happened threatens the Argentine people and the history built during more than 40 years of democracy.

Whoever uses the privileges and powers to validate the actions of the dictatorship and genocide, acts objectively against democracy. Therefore, he not only deserves to be repudiated, but expelled from Congress because he does not honor the legality granted to him, the statement said.

Likewise, it indicates that all political and social forces must demand an exemplary punishment for the LLA deputies and remembers that the detainees “continue to commit crimes against humanity by maintaining silence and not saying where the disappeared and the appropriated babies are.”

For this Government, the category of denier is insufficient: it openly vindicates the action of the civil-military dictatorship. The expulsion must serve to stop the intention of wanting to free the genocidal perpetrators. We will not allow the memory or the truth of the 30 thousand detainees-disappeared to be erased, the document states.
