It launches on Thursday, February 29 New TV two more sports stations, new channels Nova Sport 5 a Nova Sport 6. In addition to the already announced complete seasons of Formula 1, MotoGP and WorldSBK, following a while they will also bring the gala evenings of UFC combat sports, for which Nova has just acquired the broadcasting rights for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Live broadcasts of the UFC, the world’s most prestigious mixed martial arts (MMA) organization, will be broadcast exclusively on the Nova Sport 6 channel. It promises live broadcasts of all upcoming UFC galas, including the accompanying program. The UFC will thus complement the complete season of MotoGP motorcycle races and the WorldSBK superbike world championship, which will also be exclusively presented by Nova Sport 6.

It is also new that the two new Nova sports channels will include the satellite and Internet TV operator in their program offer Telly.

The contract with Nova will keep Telly in Formula 1

The change following years is happening for the aforementioned Formula 1 races. From this season, they will be exclusively broadcast by the Nova Sport 5 channel. By including it in its offer, Telly will continue to broadcast Formula 1 as before when the channels broadcast them Sport 1 a Sport 2. The live broadcasts start on February 29, when the practice runs for the Bahrain Grand Prix of Formula 1 cars will depart. In addition to them, the new Nova Sport 5 channel will also broadcast qualifying races and, of course, the main race for all 24 F1 races this year.

Commenting on the broadcasts will be provided by the quartet Števo Eisele, Josef Král, Pavel Fabry a Jitka Poláková. For selected races, a new part of the broadcasts will also include observations filmed directly from the location of the given Grand Prix. For five races out of a total of 24 per year, Nova will send a larger crew to the field, which will also provide viewers with a behind-the-scenes look at Formula 1.

The Nova Sport 5 channel will be available in Telly in Sport, Medium and Velký packages for 300, 450 and 650 CZK per month, respectively. Those interested in the Nova Sport 6 channel can find it in the Sport and Velký packages for 300 and 650 CZK per month, respectively. The launch is scheduled to take place on the day both programs start broadcasting, i.e. February 29. Telly users will thus see the already mentioned first Grand Prix of Formula 1. Part of the agreement between the Nova group and Telly is also the extension of the rights to broadcast the channels Nova Sport 3 a Nova Sport 4where the UEFA Champions League and other European soccer leagues await spectators.

New channels also in O2 and Skylink, in Slovakia on Voya

Both new channels Nova Sport 5 and 6 will also be available from the start with the sister operator O2 TVfrom the Bronze O2 TV package for 399 crowns per month, “formula” Nova Sport 5 next to it on satellite Skylink and its internet service Skylink Live TV in the Kombi+ package and higher from CZK 399 per month. In Slovakia, where the owner of Nova and the CME group do not operate any pay TV service such as O2 TV, they will temporarily offer Nova Sport 5 and 6 as part of the streaming service Voya for the unchanged price of 5.99 euros per month. However, it warns viewers in advance that both channels may be discontinued in the future. The service must notify the user of this at least 30 days in advance.

A number of medium and smaller pay TV service providers will not include Nova’s two new sports channels because the fees for them are too high for them. Nova can thus make a lot of money from partial exclusivity, because the certainty of watching Nova Sport 5 and Nova Sport 6 in the Czech Republic will be available to users of O2 TV, which is owned by the group PPF, owner of CME (which owns Nova), and Voya users in Slovakia. Nova Sport 5 and 6 will be the cheapest for fans with the Telly operator (from CZK 300 per month), where the agreement with the Nova group also included broadcasting rights for UFC fights, which until now were exclusively held by their channels Premier Sportand the extension of the contract for broadcasting Nova Sport channels 3 and 4.

With the inclusion of Nova Sport 5 and 6, O2 TV has increased the price of sports packages. The cheapest one O2 TV Sports Plus for 299 crowns per month, she completely canceled it and offers it instead O2 TV Sport Premium for 399 crowns per month. This is the lowest possible package where both new sports channels appear, unless we also count the more general focused package O2 TV Bronze for the same price. But he also made the package more expensive O2 TV Sport Maxfrom 499 to 549 crowns per month, and that too as of today, i.e. the day of the launch of two new Nova sports channels.

Again and better? Nova already broadcasted Formula 1 and UFC

Formula 1 races and UFC fight galas are returning to Nova. Formula 1 was broadcast by this television on a free-to-air channel A fan (today Nova Action) and on a paid channel Nova Sport between 2006 and 2014 (before that, it was competitive for many years Prima) and was then taken over by the paid channels Sport 1, Sport 2 and the newly created Sport 3 – from the network AMC Networks International – which won it three times in a row for three years. At the beginning, Nova promised, as it does today, that it would send commentators directly to the circuits where the Grand Prix will be raced, but towards the end, as part of the investigation, it opted for remote commentary from the Prague studio and finally gave up on Formula 1 altogether.

UFC fights were also broadcast by Nova some time ago, but later moved to channels Premier Sportwhich is produced by a Slovak operator Digi Slovakia and Czech Telly (formerly Digi Czech Republic). “The Nova Group, as the previous owner of the broadcast rights for the UFC, helped build and expand the popularity of MMA in the Czech Republic and Slovakia,” he said Dusan Mendel, head of the sports section in the Nova group. “The UFC is coming back home to Nova Sport following a short hiatus. Czech MMA fans can only find broadcasts of the most prestigious organization in the world here,” he added.

The main match of the evening will feature Procházk’s conqueror Alex Pereira to defend the light heavyweight championship belt once morest Jamahalu Hillovi.
