This Wednesday they accused the driver of a truck that hit a Mercedes Benz minibus with passengers on Route 40, in the vicinity of Villa La Angostura. At the charging hearing, it was stated that the driver drove recklessly and illegally. Seven people died and six others were injured in the collision.
“The collision occurred in circumstances in which DO C created an impermissible risk when he maneuvered in an illegal manner by not respecting traffic signs, and disobeying the mandatory horizontal double yellow line marking on the road,” stated the prosecutor of the Adrián De Lillo case.
.The crime that the prosecutor attributed to the truck driver was manslaughter, caused by the reckless driving of a motor vehicle, aggravated by the number of fatalities in ideal concurrence with negligent injuries caused by the reckless driving of a motor vehicle, aggravated by the number of victims.

He also supported the request for precautionary measures made by the prosecutor in the case for the accused, which were the prohibition on leaving the country and making two weekly appearances at the Villa La Angostura police station.
Tragedy on Route 40: what the event was like and who were the fatal victims
According to the investigation of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the event occurred on November 11. The impact between the truck and the minibus was around 9:30, between kilometer 2,079 and 2,080 of National Route 40, in the vicinity of Villa la Angostura, in the sector called “Puntilla del lago”.
The Scania truck was traveling in the direction of Bariloche, with the driver as the only occupant, and the Mercedes Benz minibus was traveling in the opposite direction towards Villa la Angostura, with thirteen people (12 passengers along with the driver).
They pointed out from the Prosecutor’s Office that an accident investigation carried out by the Provincial Police revealed that none of the vehicles had mechanical failures, and that the truck invaded part of the lane in which the minibus was traveling, which caused the collision.
The victims were identified as Alezandra Martínez; Li Mei Chi Rufina; Ylenia del Carmen León Carrillo; Alfredo Eduardo Ezquerra; Ester Alicia Levy; Paola Andrea Pereyra; and Carlos Alberto Tejerina Ibarra.
