Within the framework of the general elections, Lanús was the scene of an episode that generated tension and crossed accusations between the candidates of Together for Change (JxC) and Unión por la Patria (UxP). In this regard, in one of the schools where the elections were taking place, they reported that A UxP prosecutor harassed and made sexual comments to his JxC counterpartwho went to the police station with a prosecutor from the Left Front (FIT) to accuse him of gender violence.
The incident occurred at the Estrada School in Lanús Oeste and the Specialized Fiscal Unit (UFI) 8 intervened. For her part, the FIT prosecutor agreed with the description of the events, indicating that the young woman “started crying and had a panic attack.” In addition to this, she stated that Julián Álvarez, candidate for mayor for UxP, entered the police station in an “arrogant” manner and threatened the officer: “When we were testifying in the office, Mr. Julián Álvarez wanted to enter with arrogance and told the head of the police station, raising his finger ‘Fix this for me now, free me the person you have held there‘”. However, he continued, the commissioner “did not let him in,” so the applicant “stayed out there” and the alleged victim ” once more began to become distressed.”
Álvarez was the first to speak out regarding the incident, accusing his competitor Cambiomita and former prosecutor Mariano Leguiza of break into the school and “irregularly” arrest one of its prosecutors. “The former prosecutor Mariano Leguiza and current official of Diego Kravetz broke into the Estrada School in Lanús and instructed Deputy Commissioner Carlos Paz of the First Police Station to arrest an attorney general of Unión por la Patria,” the candidate warned through from your X account (formerly Twitter).
