The payment of compensations, amounting to 107 million euros, to farmers in Thessaly whose crop production was destroyed by the “Daniel” disaster is in progress.

“The government is and will continue to be on the side of those affected and reminded that, apart from compensations, every financial resource is used for the reconstruction of production in the primary sector” said the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Lefteris Avgenakis.

According to an announcement by the FSA, the advance payments per product are distributed as follows:

Cotton: 140 euros per hectare

Maize: 125 euros per hectare

Industrial tomato: 500 euros per hectare

Alfalfa – Hay Clover:

– 100 euros for the loss of two cuts

– 70 euros for losing a cut

Apples: 500 euros

In the next period, the prices for the other crops, whether woody or not, will be determined. As also emphasized in the same announcement, the ELGA branch in Larissa will operate telephone lines for the submission of comments by farmers on the advance payments of plant production compensation which is paid into the accounts of beneficiaries as of today, but also for livestock loss advances paid on November 8.

The contact phone number is: 2410231938 and 2410231929, extension 1 and the opening hours are from 08:00 to 20:00.

According to newsbeast, the purpose of the operation of the line is to provide clarifications on the payments and to collect any hint of possible distortions, failures or even errors so that they are immediately corrected by ELGA, so that there are no injustices and complaints from the producers.
