Thessaloniki: In prison the 24-year-old who drove away a gas station clerk with a car – “I had no money, I panicked” – 2024-07-09 14:51:32

He was adjudged a temporary prisoner, following his apology to the investigator, the 24-year-old Roma man who drove away the employee of the gas station in Diavata, Thessaloniki, when he decided to leave without paying fuel worth 25 euros.

The defendant, who is being prosecuted for the felony of robbery, was brought before the investigator this morning and following the explanations he gave, he made his way to prison.

According to information, the young man claims that he stepped on the gas to drive away as he saw that he did not have enough money with him to pay for the gas he put in, while he realized that the clerk was “grabbed” by the car when he was already on the road and panicked. He claims that he was trying to stop the vehicle to help the worker, while he apologized for his action.

It is noted that the 24-year-old, who is the father of a child, does not have a driver’s license.
