The Region of Thessaly was on full alert to deal with the wave of bad weather that has hit the Region in the last two twenty-four hours.
The technical Services of the Region and the Regional Units, in coordination with the Civil Protection counterparts, constantly monitor the phenomenon, are ready and intervene in the high-risk areas with personnel and machinery.
The biggest burden according to the data so far was received by the Trikala Regional Unit, where there was intervention to strengthen embankments in cases where it was deemed necessary.
According to the Civil Protection Coordinator Ilias Leontari, the situation in the whole of Thessaly is under control and all points of increased risk are being monitored, in relation to the forecasts of the meteorological service.
This makes the need to clean the dormitories immediate. The project is big, the work is ongoing and that is why the Region of Thessaly has already asked the government for the continuation of funding, for the restoration of the dikes, in the pre-DANIEL situation, but also for the cleaning of the rivers, streams and streams. And all this while waiting for the Government’s decision on Thessaly’s anti-flood plan.
However, based on the meteorological forecasts, the wave of bad weather is in the relaxation phase, therefore no particular problems are expected in the next few hours.
