Tony Hudgell, a 7-year-old English boy, was just 41 days old when he ended up in Evelina Hospital in London. As a baby, he had been horribly abused by his biological parents and his injuries were so severe, including multiple fractures, that he had had toxic shock and sepsis. Doctors narrowly managed to save his life, but soon following had to resort to amputating his legs so he might live.
Now adopted by a loving family, the 7-year-old boy walks around on crutches as best he can. The little guy had already been talked regarding in 2020. At the time, he had carried out a challenge in the hope of raising 500 pounds sterling for the hospital which had saved his life and which he has always considered his second house. But the donations had exploded and more than a million euros had been collected for the hospital where he will continue to be treated at least until his 18 years.
If little Tony is being talked regarding once more today, it’s for a much less gratifying reason. Indeed, a court decision is causing a stir across the Channel since it has been learned that the biological parents of the boy will be free at the latest at the end of this month, following having served a 5-year prison sentence. In 2018, Jody Simpson, 24, and Anthony Smith, 47 were sentenced to 10 years in prison. “These monsters spent only 5 years in prison while Tony will have to fight his whole life because of their cruelty”, reacted the adoptive mother of the little boy when he heard the news. “It’s a kick in the stomach and it makes me sick to know that these two child abusers are free in a few years”.
This decision has the effect of a bomb in England, especially since his mother might be released on Tuesday, the day Tony is invited to 10 Downing Street, the residence of the Prime Minister, for a ceremony, a few months following s to be awarded a prize for his courage and initiative…
