Experts from the American resource “CarEdge” have declassified a list of cars that depreciate in value faster than others after 5 years of operation on their market. According to the research, these models are a bad investment and it is better not to buy them in new condition.
Calculations have shown that all these 15 models lose more than 40% of their value over 5 years of operation after leaving the showroom doors.
TOP 10 cars that depreciate the most during resale:
1 place: Mercedes-Benz GLS (-62.3%) – loss on resale after 5 years is 44 thousand 47 dollars (4.3 million rubles);
2 place: Mercedes-Benz GLE (-56.1%) – loss in monetary terms of 39 thousand 640 dollars (3.9 million rubles);
3 place: Land Rover Range Rover (-56.0%) – loss in monetary terms of 57 thousand 623 on resale (5.6 million rubles).
4 place: BMW 7 Series (-53.3%) – loss in monetary terms of 50 thousand 297 dollars (4.9 million rubles);
5 place: Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class (52.8%) – loss in monetary terms of 27 thousand 528 dollars (2.7 million rubles).
6th place
: Infiniti QX80 (52.6%) – loss in monetary terms of 36 thousand 642 dollars (3.6 million rubles);
7th place: Audi A8 (51.6%) – loss in monetary equivalent of 46 thousand 286 dollars (4.5 million rubles);
8 place: Jaguar XF (50.4%) – loss in monetary equivalent of 29 thousand 289 dollars (2.9 million rubles);
9th place Audi A7 (48.8%) – loss in monetary equivalent of 40 thousand 774 dollars (4 million rubles);
10 place: Audi SQ5 (48.6%) – loss in monetary equivalent of 32 thousand 744 dollars or 3.2 million rubles at the current exchange rate.
