The Venezuelan Airlines Association (EQUIPMENT) announced that a meeting was held between various authorities and union representatives, where a new set of exceptions was established for Venezuelan passengers who have expired passports.
After a meeting with representatives of the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Immigration (Saime), the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC), the Foreign Ministry, as well as with Avavit, Líneas Aéreas, Avemarep and Conseturismo, several exceptions were defined this Wednesday .
Exceptions for Venezuelans with expired passports
- Venezuelans with dual nationality “may enter the country with an expired passport, without safe conduct,” says the statement released by the ALAV.
- Venezuelans with legal residence in other countries will also be able to enter without a safe conduct.
- Those Venezuelans without legal residence abroad must enter Venezuela with a safe passage.
- The validity of the Mercosur Convention is reiterated, with which they can travel only with the ID, however they must arrive in the country with a direct flight from member countries; currently only flights are available from Bolivia.
This safe conduct“It allows transit in another country (not exceeding 5 hours) without doing migration there, because it only authorizes flying to the final destination, Venezuela.”
Furthermore, the statement indicates that a valid Venezuelan passport is essential to leave Venezuela.
