These are the new campervans 2025: Overview of new products – Promobil

The Bulli is considered the forefather of the short city camper. This year, it was mainly the presentation of the new VW models that dominated the news surrounding the compact camper. After VW switched production of the California based on the T6.1 in favor of a Multivan base at the beginning of this year, the new VW models will debut in May 2024.

But other base vehicles can also be found at the converters. The models from Ford, the Transit Custom and the Ford Tourneo as well as the Mercedes vans are still popular. We are currently at the Caravan Salon 2024 and are expecting further premieres. We will update the list as soon as we receive further news and information.

We have listed the manufacturers in alphabetical order and will expand the list as soon as there are more new products.

Bürstner

In the compact camper range, Bürstner presents the Copa 500 Sporta sporty customization variant of the Ford Transit Custom conversion. A lowered chassis reduces the overall height by twenty millimeters. A sleek rear spoiler, a front spoiler lip painted in the vehicle color and 19-inch aluminum rims in matt black complete the sporty look.

In the compact campervan category, Dreamer shows the Cap Land on Ford Transit Custom. As a compact model with a pop-up roof, it has a special role anyway. The completely redesigned Cap Land was presented at the beginning of the year. It is one of the few models on the market that offers both car-like handling and full motorhome comfort. A full bathroom with cassette toilet and shower tray is installed in the rear part of the camper. The back seat only has two belted seats and can be lowered electrically. In combination with additional cushions, it creates a bed for two people.

Mercedes

Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo (2024)

Mercedes-Benz

With the well-known Marco Polo Mercedes has launched its own camper van based on the V-Class. The cheaper Marco Polo Horizon variant is no longer available, however. Although the recently upgraded Vito would have provided an attractive basis. With the discontinuation of the Vito, Mercedes is apparently beginning to withdraw from its previous habits: the Marco Polo will only be built at Westfalia until the end of 2025. The partnership will then end. Westfalia will concentrate on its own products such as the new Club Joker Urban. The company has not yet revealed what Mercedes plans to do then.

The Marco Polo is getting another facelift for the new model year – because the V-Class base was recently facelifted and received a completely new cockpit with some new and more digital controls. Practically nothing has changed in the camping conversion, apart from new color variants for the furniture.

A key new feature is the optional, further developed air suspension for around 3,600 euros including control unit, which makes it easy to level the vehicle on uneven ground. It can compensate for a difference in level of up to twelve centimeters. In most cases, the rule is: park, press the button, and you’re done. The ramps can stay at home.

The new P10+ compact version is exactly two meters high and is therefore suitable for underground parking.

At 2.08 metres high, most compact camper vans in the Peak series based on Ford Transit Custom are too high for many car parks. Now, with the P10+ in the compact version and the P50+ two models that are only two meters high.

The P10+ is based on the short wheelbase Transit Custom and is five metres long. For 2025, it will be available in a limited edition with 16″ alloy wheels and two exterior colours. The P50+ is based on the long wheelbase Transit Custom and has, among other things, a hot water system and an outside shower as standard.

Cooking outside? No problem! The kitchen in the Southvan can be swung outwards.

The small Allgäu manufacturer has converted the recently refurbished Mercedes Vito. It has a kitchen and furniture unit on the driver’s side that is typical for compact campers. Thanks to the second sliding door on the left, the pantry can be swung outwards and is equipped with a two-burner cartridge cooker and a 40-litre refrigerator with freezer compartment.

The canisters, which are housed in the rear, permanently installed part of the kitchen block, hold 20 liters of fresh water and 20 liters of waste water. A hot water heater is available as an option. The vehicle has a 150 Ah lithium battery, and a solar system for the pop-up roof is available as an option. The price for the new Southvan based on Vito starts at 79,900 euros.

Looks like a sports car, but is a camping vehicle: the cooperation between Vanexxt and the tuning specialist Irmscher.

The young brand is showing two camping vehicles based on the Ford Tourneo at the Caravan Salon, on the design of which it worked together with the tuning company Irmscher. The camping buses appeal primarily to fans of a sporty look. The Upper Franconian company also has vehicles based on the discontinued VW T6.1 on offer, for which it is showing two new conversion concepts.

Volkswagen

VW California Ocean Campervan driving impression

VWN Press

A very special season change is coming up at Volkswagen this year. VW has California Ocean pretty much turned inside out. The new basis is partly responsible for this: for the first time, the Cali is not based on the Transporter, but on the VW Multivan, which uses the Group’s modular transverse matrix passenger car platform. The ambience, driving comfort, assistance systems and drives are now correspondingly car-like. In addition to diesel (150 hp) and petrol engines (204 hp), the new California will probably also be available as a plug-in hybrid and therefore with all-wheel drive.

The California inherits the second sliding door on the left from the Multivan, and this is precisely the reason for the new design concept. To ensure that the door actually makes sense and the passage is maintained, VW has shortened the kitchen. The driver’s seat can now be rotated 180 degrees, but the cupboards in the kitchen have largely been eliminated, also because the cool box – now as a drawer – opens forward into the passage so that you can also get to it from outside. Consequently, there will also be an awning on the left in the future. The pop-up roof can be operated manually as standard, with an electric version optional.

The California Beach, which is also new and more simply equipped, will be available in three versions. The Tour has a bed on the ground floor, while the Beach Camper also has a rear kitchen.

Westfalia

With the Club Joker Urban Westfalia has big plans and wants to develop the small folding roof camper step by step into a volume model. The basis is the new Ford Transit Custom, which now has the appearance of a passenger car thanks to independent suspension on the rear axle and modern equipment in terms of comfort and assistance systems. The Club Joker is a joint development of the three locations – Rapido in France, the Westfalia main plant in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, where the Club Joker is built, and the production facility in Gotha, where most of the company’s own models are made.

With the Kelseyalso based on the new Transit Custom, but with a long wheelbase, is a folding roof camper from France – with an unusual floor plan. With a seating area at the front and two sliding doors, a kitchen on the right and a rudimentary bathroom in the rear. The roof is hinged at the front.

The series Kepler on VW T6.1 is being phased out because the VW Transporter is being redesigned. Individual models are still available from dealers. The Jules Verne on the Mercedes Vito has a facelift on the base vehicle. The same goes for the Sven Hedin, whose base, the MAN TGE, is being given a facelift including technical innovations. For this occasion, the furniture and kitchen are being slightly revised. Most of the things remain unchanged on the Meridian on the large Transit and on the Columbus series. The 540 and 600 models in particular are bestsellers in the latter.
