These are the groups for the World Baseball Classic

The Major League Baseball organization announced on August 21 how the groups, brackets and matches will be formed.

There are still four nations that will be present, but those already present are: Puerto Rico, Cuba, Panama (Group A); Mexico (Group B); Venezuela and the Dominican Republic (Group D).

Here’s how the matches will go:

The championship will begin on March 5, 2026 on Asian soil, when Group C opens the competition in Tokyo, while the three remaining groups – A, B and D – will begin their journey on March 6 in their respective venues. Group A will be based in Puerto Rico, Group B in Houston, Texas, USA and Group D in Miami, Florida.

The quarterfinals will also be played on March 13-14 on both sides of the bracket: Group A and Group B will be played at Minute Maid Park in Texas – home of the Houston Astros – while the best teams in Groups C and D will face each other at LoanDepot Park in Florida – home of the Miami Marlins.
