This new edition of the UEFA Champions League is about to arrive and the best teams in Europe will have to understand what this edition will be like since the format has been modified.
The organizing committee of the UEFA based its design on extensive consultations with key stakeholders in the European football community. This was approved on 10 May 2022, following the decision of the UEFA of April 19, 2021 to introduce a new competition system.

What should you know?
There will be 36 teams taking part in this edition, four more than in previous years. At least eight matches instead of six; Champions League matches scheduled for January for the first time; an increase in prize money of at least 25% to at least 2.5 billion euros.
Is there no more group stage?
They will no longer play three opponents twice, home and away, but will face eight different teams, half at home and half away.
To determine the eight opponents, the teams will initially be placed into four groups. Each team will then face two opponents from each of these groups, playing one match against a team from each group at home and one match away.
