Ubisoft released a reboot of the strategic series The Settlers on PC on February 17, and on March 23 the game will be released on consoles. However, players may not be in a hurry to pre-order: reviews published over the past days The Settlers: New Allies far from praiseworthy.
The Settlers: New Allies destroys everything that has been created by the game series.
While the game’s gorgeous world actively encourages continued exploration, blazing trails, and looking following your flock, the lack of depth and personality makes New Allies feel like a convoluted experiment.
Players call The Settlers: New Allies the worst game of the year and the funeral of the entire Settlers series. The game is boring and weak in technical terms, and the only thing that works without flaws in it is the game store. They believe that eating or throwing money away would be a better investment.
However, there were also voices in defense of the restart. The meditative ease was considered quite suitable for beginners or those who are attracted to a relaxed gameplay.
Ubisoft might have used this gameplay but given it a different name and players would have been more interested. But The Settlers: New Allies wants to change the classic formula, even though it doesn’t know how to do it.
