AS MANY six agencies received the loot from the corruption case, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) hopes that the items provided can be put to good use.

“The handover of the KPK’s state confiscated goods through PSP (determination of use status) grants is not merely ceremonial,” said interim KPK Chairman Nawawi Pomolango in Jakarta, Sunday (10/3).

The six agencies are the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI), the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the Tomohon City Government (Pemkot), the Kediri Regency Government (Pemkab), and the Tulungagung Regency Government.

According to Nawawi, handing over the looted goods was an encouragement so that officials would not dare to commit corruption. Because the assets will be taken and used by other people, or auctioned off to the state.

“It is hoped that we can all take lessons from this PSP grant activity, namely one, don’t be corrupt,” said Nawawi.

The handover of assets is also carried out so that goods are not stored for too long. According to Nawawi, it is more useful for assets to be used by other agencies, rather than being left unattended.
