Joko Widodo (Jokowi) attended the presidential inauguration at the MPR/DPR RI Building. Jokowi was seen using a luxury Mercedes-Benz sedan on his way to the MPR/DPR RI Building.
However, there is something different about Jokowi’s Mercedes-Benz. Because, usually Jokowi uses the W222 generation Mercedes-Benz S 600 Guard. However, today, Jokowi uses the latest W223 generation Mercedes-Benz S 680.
This can be seen from its appearance. Sales and Marketing Director of PT Inchcape Indomobil Distribution Indonesia (Mercedes-Benz Indonesia), Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, also confirmed that the car used by Jokowi was a W223 generation Mercedes-Benz S 680, the latest version of the bulletproof Mercy car.

“Yes, the car is an S680 Guard W223. The car was purchased through direct sales (direct purchase) from the State Secretariat to Mercedes-Benz in Germany,” said the man who is familiarly called Keri to detikOto, Sunday (20/10/2024).
The W223 generation Mercedes-Benz S 680 has gone through testing for the protection of its passengers. The S 680 GUARD 4MATIC meets the highest level of protection for civil vehicles certified by the Ulm proving institute. With protection class VPAM VR10, the S 680 GUARD meets the highest ballistic standards available for civil vehicles and also protects its occupants from explosive devices effectively.
Protection against explosive attacks is documented through compliance with the latest version of the VPAM ERV (Explosive Resistant Vehicle) standard, whose test criteria are not freely available. The S 680 GUARD 4MATIC was not only the first vehicle to complete the latest tests, but also achieved the highest scores in all three tests (roof, floor and sides).
The hydraulically (rather than electrically) operated window system is also very clever. Even if the electrical system in the vehicle fails, emergency operations are still possible, namely closing the windows in the event of an attack attempt.
Other special equipment designed specifically for the S 680 GUARD 4MATIC includes a fire extinguishing system with automatic trigger function and an emergency fresh air system that protects passengers from incoming smoke or irritant gases.
Michelin PAX anti-puncture tires are standard. Even with damaged tires, this car can get out of the danger zone up to a distance of 30 kilometers.
This car is powered by a 5,980 cc V12 biturbo engine. The V12 engine has a maximum power of up to 450 kW or 612 horsepower. The maximum torque reaches 830 Nm which can be achieved from 2,000 rpm.
