Muscat: There will be no increase in fuel prices in Oman until the end of next year. This was announced in the Cabinet meeting which was part of the National Day celebrations. Current fuel prices will continue next year.

It has been decided to reduce the fees for various government services and waive some fees. Job security will be provided to Omani workers who have lost their jobs until June next year. The Sultan also ordered promotion for the 2012 batch of Oman government employees.

Those who are eligible for promotion under Civil Service Scheme and other categories will get the benefit. Retirees from the Sultan’s Armed Forces have waived their housing loans.
