As you know, following a series of brutal missile strikes by Russia, the Ukrainian energy supply system was severely damaged and destroyed. Restoring the system has become a huge task for the country’s economy, which must also ensure the stability of the energy complex.
However, citizens are expressing concern regarding a possible increase in electricity and gas tariffs, which might seriously hit their budgets.
However, Prime Minister Denys Shmihal stressed at a press conference that the government will not allow tariff increases for socially vulnerable groups of the population. Instead, the overall tariff plan for electricity and gas will be revised to reduce financial costs for all citizens.
It should be noted that at the moment the tariff for gas in Ukraine is 7.96 hryvnia per cubic meter, and for electricity – 1.44 hryvnia per kilowatt-hour for consumption up to 250 kilowatts and 1.68 hryvnia per kilowatt-hour for consumption over 250 kilowatt.
In general, the main goal of the government is to ensure the stable operation of the energy complex, but not at the expense of ordinary citizens. Therefore, the revision of tariffs will be carried out taking into account the interests of all segments of the population and economic realities in the country.
