In Tver, the building of the military research institute on the Afanasy Nikitin embankment continues to burn.
In the regional center, they continue to extinguish a fire of 2 levels of complexity in the NII-2 building. Eyewitnesses sent a video showing how people, fleeing the disaster, get out onto the cornices of windows. There are people injured 14 ambulances arrived at the scene of the fire.
After the alarm went off, everyone in the building was evacuated. This was done by employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Officials have not yet announced the number of casualties.
At the moment, the Afanasy Nikitin embankment has been completely blocked for travel – from the River Station to Peace Square.
Firefighters and doctors are working on the spot, correspondents of the Tverigrad.ru portal.
Recall major fire at NII-2 on Afanasy Nikitin began today, April 21, at 11:08. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, employees of the fire and rescue units No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 72, SPSCh, and the duty shift of the SPT went to put out the fire.
Presumably, the fire occurred in a closed office on the second floor of NII-2. The fire quickly spread to the 3rd and 4th floors. Now open burning is observed throughout the area of the building.
