After graduating from the Higher Theater School named following M. S. Shchepkin with honors, Ekaterina Volkova was accepted into the group of the State Film Actor Theater. The talented actress happily served there for almost 13 years. Despite being in demand in the cinema, she was not going to quit. However, Nikita Mikhalkov intervened in the matter.
In a new interview, the celebrity admitted that it was the arrival of the famous director to the Film Actor Theater that became a big nuisance for all members of the troupe. The fact that Mikhalkov needs a building for the opening of his own school has been discussed in the team for a long time. Most of the actors, according to rumors, the new leader was going to put out the door.
According to Volkova, the first thing Mikhalkov said was: “Guys, I didn’t recruit you, it’s not for me to fire you.” However, this statement turned out to be a lie. Nikita Sergeevich went to the trick.
“He didn’t fire us. This was all done, probably, according to his instructions, but not with his hands, ”concluded Ekaterina.
Once the star of the Voronins was asked to urgently come to the theater to sign some paper. During a break on the set, Volkova went to the accounting department and without looking left her autograph on the document. This turned out to be a fatal mistake. A week later, the actress received a call and was asked to write a letter of resignation “of her own free will.”
“It was written there that I was obliged to be in the theater 24/7, given that we had never had such a thing! Because everyone has, God forbid, a job, everyone is filming.<...> There were always five or six compositions, because people were filmed and interchanged,” the star told regarding the content of the signed contract.
In response to the indignation, the director of the theater said that Volkova had not appeared in the theater for a week without warning anyone. At the same time, the head of the troupe stated with regret that she had no right to call Ekaterina and explain the content of the new contract, as well as warn of a possible dismissal.
“Absolutely everyone is like that. Absolutely. <...> I was so offended. Okay, I’m leaving, I have somewhere to go, I have a job. I felt so sorry for the guys-colleagues who proved right with foam at the mouth, they began to write on the social network, there was just a scandal, he was almost threatened. And yet they were all removed. Absolutely everyone was removed,” the actress recalled.
All these tests hardened Volkova great. But sometimes she gets tired and gives up. Recently the tantrum happened to the Voronin star right on the red carpet Moscow International Film Festival.
