A magnitude 4.4 earthquake was also felt in Hungarian settlements on Tuesday morning in Croatia, near the Hungarian-Croatian border, MTI reports based on a statement from the Kövesligethy Radó Seismological Observatory of the HUN-REN Earth Physics and Space Science Research Institute.
According to the announcement, at 8:43 a.m. approx. The epicenter of the earthquake was 15 kilometers from the Hungarian border, near Kapronca. In the first half hour, reports came from Zalaegerszeg, Pécs, Őrtilos, Nagykanizsa, Kaposvár, Szekszárd, Komló and Marcali, but the earthquake could also be felt in several settlements close to the border.
Zsolt Kósi, the spokesperson of the Zala County Disaster Management Directorate, told MTI that no damage was reported in the first half hour. In Nagykanizsa and its surroundings, according to posts on social media sites and what the MTI correspondent experienced, furniture, fixtures and fittings, and chandeliers swung in several places. People standing outside also felt the slight rumbling and the ground movement, some even felt the tremor while sitting in their car.
