there is the date – The Time

A summer that has taken a scorching turn, with truly high temperatures throughout Italy. In particular, this week will be the hottest since the beginning of the season, as Colonel Mario Giuliacci explains: “There will be high temperatures from north to south practically throughout the country. A heat wave accentuated by high humidity levels, which as usually happens with the presence of the North African Anticyclone, are quite high and therefore push the perceived temperatures even higher. In short, in the next few days we will have to sweat from the heat”. But the heat might really have its hours numbered, with a date for the end.

Sun and heat have no intention of abandoning Italy. Sottocorona: the areas most at risk

The expert meteorologist outlines the situation and makes his forecast on the site meteogiuliacci.it: “As for this week, there are no major glimmers of change, at least until Sunday 21 July the sultry heat will remain intense throughout Italy, with the highest temperatures in the Center-South and Islands and the most suffocating heat, due to the greater presence of humidity, in the North. The most up-to-date projections suggest that even in the first part of next week, at least until Wednesday 24 July, the African high pressure will remain stably positioned over our country”. And when will a bit of cool weather arrive? “For Thursday 25 July the main forecast models propose a sudden change in the situation, in which the fresh and unstable Atlantic currents should return to break out in the northern regions, accompanied by numerous storms and a sharp drop in temperatures. Always based on this scenario, between Friday 26 and Saturday 27 the fresh Atlantic winds – Giuliacci points out – should then also spread to the Center and South, sweeping away the suffocating heat from all of Italy”.

Heat alert and red warning in 12 cities. The situation is set to worsen
