“There is still an opportunity to stop this evil”

The leader of the public organization Austošā saule, former secretary general of TB-Visu Latvijai Raivis Zeltits, who plans to create his own party, published an article on the philosophical portal telos.lv about the danger of mass immigration for Latvia. Having analyzed the situation with migrants in other EU countries, R. Zeltits came to the conclusion that everywhere attempts to solve economic problems and fill labor shortages through labor migration led to dire consequences. Namely: to the creation of enclaves of migrants, to an increase in crime and even terrorism, to a threat to European values…

“Mass immigration in Latvia is unacceptable. It threatens culture and security, as well as economic development, and worsens the geopolitical situation. Government decisions or inaction, which contributes to the influx of immigrants, contradict the spirit of the Constitution and the interests of the Latvian people. The last time has come to start a discussion about the “creeping new immigration” from countries with a culture alien to the West and demand decisive action from politicians. The experience of Western Europe shows that at first the labor problem was solved by a small number of immigrants, but then all this turned into practically an unstoppable process and into a social catastrophe. We still have the opportunity to stop this evil,” warns R. Zeltits. He points out that every year the number of work permits issued to foreigners in Latvia is growing.
