There is no truth in the complaint of embezzlement, don’t think that because you are a film actor you can win the fraud case by being embarrassed: Baburaj- Actor Baburaj about Land Fraud Case

Baburaj said that since 2016, the complainant has not paid tax to the resort and he has received a forfeiture notice asking him to pay Rs 50 lakh as fine.

There were reports that Babu Raj was arrested the other day in the case of allegedly embezzling money by leasing the resort. However, Baburaj said that after recording his arrest, he returned home on bail on the same day and there is no truth in the complaint that he had cheated money by renting out the resort.

Baburaj also explained the developments that led to the case. The complainant took an advance of Rs 35 lakh from Arun and rented the resort. But Baburaj says that after the resort was closed for eleven months during the Covid period, there was a lot of damage and the dispute started when the complainant was asked to bear half of the loss.

“When I went, many things including the door were in a state of collapse. So much damage was done there. I have not been given eleven months rent. I went to Thodupuzha Commercial Court and took the order and got Arun out of there. After that he came to me several times saying that he wants to return 35 lakh rupees. “I’ll give you half the money while someone else rents the resort. Because you took the resort and left without paying the rent and I should not bear the entire loss, you should also bear half the loss. This is the beginning of the dispute. He filed a private complaint with the magistrate to get the money. The complaint was filed that he was cheated by giving land without title. The resort also sits on the entire site. It’s just that there is untitled land there. He complained that he could not claim GST as he did not have the title. But that is a lie because he had run a resort at this very place two years ago,” Baburaj told Manorama Online.

Baburaj says that since 2016, the complainant has not paid tax to the resort and he has received a forfeiture notice asking him to pay Rs 50 lakh as fine. “Being a film actor, he thinks I will pay the full amount out of fear of embarrassment. I didn’t just get this resort. I bought it with my hard earned money. 90 lakhs is very valuable to me. So I am not going to give in to his false case. The case is pending in the High Court. I am confident of victory as the truth is on my side,” Baburaj clarified.
