The Egyptian artist, Samira Mohsen, announced her retirement from acting following 4 years of being away from the screen, due to circumstances that the artist suffers from, who has grown old according to her experience. She also sent a message to the artists, saying: “The older the artist becomes, the cheaper it is, but the university professor, the older he gets, the more expensive it is.”

Samira pointed out that the reason for her retirement was also her attempt to devote herself to teaching at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, in addition to several factors, including long filming hours of up to 18 hours a day, which makes the artist unable to create and is exhausted.

She also pointed out that some artistic works are presented to her in the form of separate episodes, which makes her not know where the beginning and end of the work she is participating in is.

Samira stressed that the artist must retire at the appropriate time, and decides to stop while he is a great artist, in order to provide the opportunity for a new generation.

She pointed out that art gave her her full opportunity, as she played starring roles in theatre, cinema and television.

Samira Mohsen stressed that the artist must have dignity while he is old, noting that the generation she started with was distinguished by their love for each other.

During a television intervention on the “Details” program, by journalist Nihal Tayel, broadcast on “Sada El Balad 2” satellite channel, Samira Mohsen said: “There is no such thing as Number One in the world. So why is there no Number 2 or Number 5? Everyone says what is in their temperament and diligence.” “All human beings are number one at all levels.”

It is noteworthy that Samira Mohsen studied at the Academy of Arts under the great theater men, including Karam Mutawa and Jalal Al-Sharqawi, and obtained a doctorate degree, and headed the Acting and Directing Department at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts.
