There is no need to panic about the consequences of the decision to prevent the export of foodstuffs manufactured in Lebanon – Al-Manar TV website – Lebanon

The Minister of Industry in Lebanon, George Boushekian, said that “there is no need to panic regarding the consequences of the decision to prevent the export of manufactured foodstuffs in Lebanon, except in the case of possession of an export license from the Ministry of Industry and signed exclusively by the Minister of Industry.”

The minister pointed out that “the decision did not basically prevent the export completely or completely, as it linked the export to the prior permit that allows it in cases that do not deal with basic food commodities and do not negatively affect the local market stock.”

The minister explained that “it was agreed with the Association of Lebanese Industrialists to hold a meeting before noon next Monday at the Ministry of Industry to study the proper implementation of the decision and to set up a practical and applied mechanism that facilitates the matter and does not negatively affect neither the industrialists nor the market needs, and thus ensures the continuation of securing the full food basket for citizens with quality required, specified specifications, and competitive prices.
