For the living forces and society in general of the Motatán municipality “there is no excuse” for a single national – regional – municipal government, given the public support of Mayor Heriberto Materan for the presidential re-election of Nicolás Maduro, along with other mayors of the state of Trujillo, who declared themselves independent a week before the voting process on JULY 28.
In November, Gerardo Márquez and Heriberto Materán celebrate three years in the exercise of their functions as governor of Trujillo and mayor of Motatán, respectively, directly responsible with the national government for guaranteeing both economic growth and development and the optimal functioning of public services in for the social well-being of its inhabitants.
Heriberto Materán political-electoral ally
“There is no excuse” for the solution to the enormous problems, shortcomings and needs that the Motatán municipality suffers – because Mayor Heriberto Materán with his support for Nicolás Maduro declared himself a political-electoral ally of the Official Party.
For this reason, the Mayor’s Office cannot continue arguing to evade the responsibilities “that supposedly the national and regional government does not support the mayor because he is in the opposition.” Well, that’s no longer an excuse because He no longer belongs to the opposition.
Joint government management
Hence, there is no excuse for joint municipal – regional – national government management to urgently address the abandonment, deterioration and failures in public servicesthe main cause detrimental to the quality of life of the population whose precariousness has deepened in the last three years.
This alliance should not remain only in the political-electoral sphere but should be extended to the governmental sphere between the Mayor’s Office – Government – National Executive, “there is no longer any excuse or argument that is valid” to address and resolve needs, problems, claims suffered in the popular sectors, agricultural areas, neighborhoods, urbanizations and town planning of the three parishes of Motatan, Jalisco and El Baño.
The needs are numerouswhich can hardly be addressed immediately, but there are some that are a priority, since they negatively affect health, education, environmental sanitation, agrotourism development, transportation, protection and citizen security, among other aspects.
Motatán “cannot continue to be marginalized”
The Motatán municipality – which inexplicably lacks a Municipal Development Plan – for its growth, progress and social well-being cannot continue to be marginalized and/or excluded from the plans, programs and projects of the national and regional government.
The frustration of the people of Motatan is expressed every Friday when they finish listening to the regional president Gerardo Márquez on his radio program, given that Motatán is left out “like the guayabera” in the plans that are executed, mainly in tourism and roads.
Tourism: agrotourism-religious-medicinal corridor “Beato JGH”
For example, in terms of tourism – according to the Ciudad Trujillo portal – “The Bolivarian Government is carrying out an important project to remodel and beautify the entrance to the Boconó municipality, with the aim of promoting local tourism for the enjoyment of locals and visitors.” .
Meanwhile, in these three years, the municipal – regional – national government has been indifferent to the development of the agrotourism-religious-medicinal potential of the Motatán municipality, which represents the Jalisco-Motatán-El Baño-Sabana Libre-Isnotú corridor, which in his honor is named after our Blessed and next Saint “José Gregorio Hernández”, whose project is in the Vice Presidency of the Republic, which would turn Motatán into the tourist-religious epicenter of the Trujillo state.
Roads: broken bridges, impassable streets and avenues
This also occurs with the road recovery plans described by Governor Márquez: “More than 600 km of Trujillo roads have been recovered by the Bolivarian Government, so far this year with patchwork and continuous asphalt work, thanks to the support of President Nicolás Maduro.”
Of which Motatán has not benefited, only when the return to Trujillo comes that the roads where the multicolored caravan is going to pass are barricaded.the rest of the urban roads (streets – avenues) and agricultural roads remain abandoned and impassable.
In sight are the collapsed bridges in the San Nicolás sector and the Pinto Salinas – Giraluna pedestrian street; and the remaining four that require preventive maintenance; the same goes for the old Valera – Motatán highway; as well as the Motatán – El Baño tourist route, in addition to the agricultural areas.
Environmental sanitation and health
Regarding environmental sanitation and health The repair and construction of the sewage, wastewater and sewage system that has collapsed in several communities is urgently required.as for example, in the La Caribean sector, whose commitment the Mayor’s Office and Hidroandes have not fulfilled.
Reactivation and agroindustrial development
The Motatán municipality has been marginalized in terms of reactivation and agro-industrial development, despite having agricultural potential and an industrial zone that requires government and private attention for its consolidation, as shown by the Motatán Sugar Mill, Motatán Mechanical Pottery, and Hidrothermal Hotel. Saint Raphael; Pineapple Collection Center; Ventani, among other companies.
The people of Motatan and living forces – there being no diatribes because they ride together politically and electorally – they aspire and expect joint government attention and solutions to so many problems that plague Motatán and have deepened in the last three years.
