Anayra Cabrera Martínez, General Director of Industrial Policy of the Ministry of the Food Industry (Minal), reported that they are “working” to secure most of the products during the month of July. However, due to the lack of raw materials, some products cannot be guaranteed.
She mentioned that a “chicken distribution policy” is being implemented for children and pregnant women. However, so far There is not enough chicken meat available to cover the needs of the entire country. That is, chicken will be guaranteed only for the few places where there is some inventory.
The official did not specify which territories these were, or how much chicken they had, which indicates that it was very little, when they had to publicly acknowledge the problem.
But it is not just the chicken, the case of the corned beefwhich is also worrying, does not exist at the moment and its current production will only be destined for the month of August.

Idalmi Martínez Pérez, Head of Sales for the Food Group, announced that, in addition to the products in the family basket, a “differentiated module” will be distributed for children with low weight and height.
What will this module bring? According to her, it will include a kilogram of pasta, a kilogram of sweet biscuits, four packets of sorbet and a litre of syrup. Martínez Pérez assured that “all these products have already been produced and are being distributed through the Wholesale Food Company”.
They also assured that the distribution of milk for children is guaranteed until July 30thand measures are already being taken to ensure continuity during the month of August.
