What Lada cars remain in stock at dealers, how much they cost and how to save money on a purchase. Autonews.ru correspondent walked around Moscow car dealerships and studied the situation

Despite the rapid growth in sales of Chinese brands, Lada models continue to hold the title of the most popular cars on the Russian market in 2023. However, some AvtoVAZ models have become a real shortage in car dealerships, and their prices can seriously differ from those recommended. An Autonews.ru correspondent disguised as a potential client went to large Moscow dealerships to find out how much Lada cars really cost, what models are available and whether it is possible to save money on their purchase.
Lada Granta
Lada Granta is currently the most affordable model on the Russian market. The car leaves the assembly line of the factory in Togliatti in the so-called simplified version without ABS and with the ERA-GLONASS mechanical button, but with air conditioning and two airbags. On the official website of AvtoVAZ, prices for this model start at 678.3 thousand rubles. However, we did not manage to buy “Grant” from Moscow dealers for such money. In the very first showroom, the sedan in the basic version of the Classic was valued at 806.9 thousand rubles. Such a car is equipped with a non-alternative 1.6-liter Euro-2 gasoline engine, adapted to run on AI-92 gasoline, with a power of 90 hp, a five-speed manual gearbox and airbags.
Lada Granta
“We are ready to immediately offer a discount from our company in the amount of 50 thousand rubles. You can also save money on your purchase by trading in your old car. The benefit will be regarding 50 thousand rubles. There are also state programs for car loans, ”explains the seller.
In addition, in the salon you can buy Lada Granta in the Comfort package for 850.9 thousand rubles. This price is also higher than recommended by the automaker (800.9 thousand rubles). Such a sedan is additionally equipped with air conditioning, an audio system, as well as heated seats and side mirrors.
“It is not entirely correct to call the current Lada Granta a simplified model. At the moment, practical options in the form of airbags and air conditioning have already returned. ABS remains an exception, but it’s only a matter of time. According to forecasts, the problem will be solved already this year,” said the manager of the trading company.
Lada Niva Travel
Lada Niva has long held the title of the most popular SUV in Russia in terms of sales. Most often they sell the Lada Niva Travel model, which is a replacement for the outdated Chevrolet Niva. This SUV is also being produced in the so-called anti-crisis modification without ABS and airbags. You can buy a car with a non-alternative 1.7-liter 80-horsepower unit, acting in tandem with a five-speed manual, permanent all-wheel drive with a dual-range transfer case and a locking center differential.
Lada Niva Travel
On the official website, car prices start at 1.0149 million rubles. In a large dealer center in the east of Moscow, the cost of the car turned out to be slightly higher than the recommended one – 1.09 million rubles. The seller explained this extra charge by the presence of additional options. Among them are alarms, floor mats and anti-corrosion treatment of the body.
“I want to warn you right away: we have very few Lada Niva Travel SUVs in the basic configuration. As for the timing of the arrival of a new batch, I can not yet orient. The best option is to book a car right now,” recommends the seller.
If you fail to buy Lada Niva Travel in the initial Classic version, then the trading company may offer an SUV in the Comfort package. Such a car is equipped with air conditioning, heated front seats, central locking and a USB socket. Price – 1.125 million rubles. On the official website, such a car costs 1.1159 million rubles.
Lada Niva Legend
Even more difficult was the situation with dealers having off-road cars Lada Niva Legend. In the first car dealership, where we addressed with the relevant question, the car in the basic version of the Classic was not found. The showroom presents only cars in an older configuration – Luxe. Such a machine is additionally equipped with air conditioning and heated front seats. Price – 880.9 thousand rubles. Their colleagues in the south-east of the capital had off-road vehicles in the initial configuration. True, the price turned out to be higher than the recommended one – from 830.9 thousand rubles. (on the official website, the cost of the car is 821.9 thousand rubles).
Lada Niva Legend
“We literally have only a few classic three-doors left. Of course, the worst thing is the presence of the initial version. But not so long ago, we had top-end configurations of the model – Urban and Black. The cars have rich equipment and stylish design. In terms of prices, the situation is as follows: we are ready to give an SUV in Urban modification for 900 thousand rubles, but if you arrive for a car before the end of April, we can discuss a good discount. Special version Black – 915 thousand rubles. My personal advice: you should hurry up with the purchase. Car prices may change until the end of spring (there is no official confirmation of this information). And, as you yourself understand, it is clearly not in the direction of reduction, ”the seller shares.
Lada Niva Legend has been produced for almost half a century without significant technical and external changes. In the basic version, the car received 16-inch wheels, power front doors, daytime running lights and an on-board computer. The all-wheel drive SUV is equipped with a 1.7-liter gasoline engine with 83 hp. and 129 Nm of torque. At the same time, the car still lacks ABS (may return to the car before the end of 2023) and an airbag.

AvtoVAZ has not yet been able to resume production of the Lada Vesta. As a result, dealerships have experienced a severe shortage of this once-popular model. At once, in three metropolitan car dealerships, the sellers might not find a single Lada Vesta for us.

“The car has been out of production for a long time, stocks were rapidly dwindling, and now we no longer have such cars. AvtoVAZ itself promises that sales of the updated Vesta will begin in May. However, this information has not yet been brought to us. When to wait for the first batch of new products, I can’t say, ”complains the manager of one of the dealerships.
In the fourth major car dealership, Lada managed to find the right Vesta. They agreed to sell the sedan in the Comfort version for 1.9 million rubles. At the same time, on the official website, prices for a car in this configuration start at 1.1829 million rubles. Under the hood of the sedan, a 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 106 hp is installed, which works in conjunction with a variator. Among the useful options are power windows, cruise control and rear parking sensors. The Vesta station wagon is even more expensive at the dealership: this car was valued at almost 2 million rubles.
“There are very few cars left. Of course, you can be patient and wait for the restyled version of Vesta. However, all the named dates for the appearance of the car are still very vague. We have not yet received any documents on the restyled model. Also open is the question of the price of the novelty. Therefore, if you need a car now, it is better to choose from what is presented in the showroom,” the seller advises.
In another trading company, we were offered to purchase an already updated Lada Vesta. True, we are talking regarding a batch of cars that was assembled before the production was stopped. In total, AvtoVAZ was then able to produce 800 copies of the model. The dealer agreed to sell this Vesta for 2.38 million rubles.
Lada Largus
The production of Lada Largus is also frozen. It is expected that AvtoVAZ will resume production of this model this autumn. Despite this, in the first major car dealership in the east of the city, we managed to find a passenger station wagon in a cross version. The car in the Comfort configuration is sold at the dealership for 1.85 million rubles. At the same time, on the official website of Lada, such a car costs 1.4529 million rubles. The car dealership manager might not tell regarding the reasons for such a serious difference in price.
Lada Largus
“There are few cars left, production has not yet been resumed. You can use a number of discount programs to save a lot when buying Largus. Here we have a discount when applying for a loan, and a special benefit from our company, as well as, of course, a trade-in. We will make accurate calculations during a personal visit to the showroom, the price, I think, should suit you, ”the seller promises.
In another car dealership, station wagons also remained only in cross-modification. The price of a car in the Comfort configuration is approximately the same as that of their colleagues – 1.848 million rubles. The list of station wagon equipment includes an electric drive and heated exterior mirrors, air conditioning and a multimedia system with navigation. This Lada Largus in cross-modification is equipped with a 90-horsepower engine and a five-speed manual gearbox.
“There are no ordinary Lada Largus left for a long time. According to the most optimistic forecasts, it will be necessary to wait for the resumption of production until September. And then until they get to the dealerships. The issue of cost will also be very relevant. If there is a need to buy a car, it will have to be done right now,” the manager summed up.
