A knife-wielding man who injured several people in Southport has been arrested, the Guardian reports. Merseyside Police said they were called to a “serious incident” at a property in the coastal town. A force spokesman said “several casualties” had been reported. The force was called to reports of a stabbing on Hart Street in Southport at around 11.50am (12.50pm GMT), where armed police arrested a man and seized a knife.
The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said its paramedics were responding to reports of “multiple stabbings” in Southport. A statement released by NWAS on social media read: “We are responding to a serious incident in Hart Street, Southport, following reports of multiple stabbings, for which we have sent a number of resources.
