“There are some really hard days, when you say, ‘No more. I’m not going to go on.’” These were the first words the country heard from Laura Villamil’s voice. since last August 17, she ended up burned on 80 percent of her body while performing a circus act with fire at the Andrés Carne de Res restaurant in Chía (Cundinamarca).

But she said she balances the tough days with the support of her family, her friends, and the people who love her. In the interview he gave exclusively for RCN News, The artist revealed that after everything that happened to her, the fact that she is alive today is a true miracle, a reason for hope.

«At first it was difficult because I couldn’t see well. Because it was also very complex to wake up, but as time went by I started to assimilate it and now, at least, being truly alive is a miracle. And I am very grateful to all the people who have sent me a lot of light, who have sent me their prayers, their words, their beautiful energy that comes for a speedy recovery,” she said.

He confessed that She feels amazed that such a tragic event, like the one she experienced, has become an example of strength for hundreds of people. who have sent him messages, written letters and expressed their admiration for the fight he undertook to stay alive.

“There are times when I say, ‘I don’t believe it, I find it very impressive, how is it possible that such a person wrote this? How is it possible that this person sent me an audio? How is it possible that so many people are so attentive?’, for me it is still unknown,” admitted.

The days in the hospital

Although he said he doesn’t normally watch television, it is the only thing he has left, along with books, to distract himself during the long days he spends in the hospital.

She is aware that there is still a long way to go before she recovers, since she cannot stand or walk alone. She is, as she says, “being reborn.”

However, he added, that is not a valid excuse to stop dreaming, because he knows and has learned that to be alive you only need to dream.

“I dream that we can live off of art without taking risks. I dream that art saves lives. I also dream of being able to help people who need it in any field (…) I also dream that we can be a lot of love,” he added.
