According to the WHO, therapeutic patient education (TPE) aims to help patients acquire or maintain the skills they need to best manage their life with a chronic disease. Since 2009, this concept has been regulated by law in France and is part of the care pathway for many pathologies. This is training provided by specific health professionals, as well as other approved actors, to the patients concerned.
