Theodorus Struyck Revealed as $1.765 Billion Powerball Jackpot Winner in California

Golden State Billionaire!

The winner of Powerball’s second-largest jackpot prize worth $1.765 billion was revealed recently – five months after the life-changing drawing. Theodorus Struyck, a 65-year-old resident of a mountain town in California, was named as the representative of the group who bought the billion-dollar ticket at a market in Frazier Park. Struyck lives only 500 yards from the store, according to KGET.

Struyck’s location was unknown at the time of the announcement, and some of his neighbors wouldn’t share it if they knew. The brand-new billionaire was described as a pleasant person who adores his grandchildren. His neighbor, Mary Dreier, mentioned that he recently put up a “Posted: No Trespassing” sign.

The winning ticket was sold at Midway Market & Liquor in Frazier Park, California. The store received $1 million for selling the winning ticket.

The group who claimed the massive winnings can choose to be paid the $1.765 billion through 30 payments over 29 years or opt for the one-time cash sum of $774.1 million.

This historic $1.765 billion prize came after a Powerball dry spell that generated $18 million in commissions and bonuses during a three-month jackpot run. The win allowed the California Lottery to raise an additional $119.5 million for public schools.

Winning the Powerball grand prize is an astronomical feat, with odds of 1 in 292,201,338.
