Theo Bergvall is cryptic about the future when he is asked about Djurgården

STOCKHOLM. Theo Bergvall was back on Tele2 as a loaned BP player against Djurgården.
After the season, he’s going back to blue-striped… right?
– According to the contract, I will, but that remains to be seen, says the right-back cryptically to FD.

It was in August that Theo Bergvall was loaned to parent club Brommapojkarna for the rest of the season, this after minimal playing time in Djurgården when first Piotr Johansson and then Adam Ståhl went ahead.

Now the 20-year-old was back on Tele2 against Djurgården when he started at right back.

After 55 minutes he was replaced and received applause from the home crowd.

– Of course it was special to be back and I have always felt love from the fans, so it was fun, Bergvall tells FotbollDirekt.

The talent doesn’t think losing 2-1 was just as funny, not least when the 2-0 goal was disputed when August Priske was in an offside position and obscured BP keeper Hägg Johansson when Deniz Hümmet bombed the ball into the net. After the approved goal, coach Olof Mellberg was also forced to leave the bench due to a red card.

– It’s clearly offside, so he probably got angry about it. It’s actually crazy how the referee can miss it, but it is what it is, says Bergvall.

Are you for or against VAR?
– I’m against it… but at this level to miss something like that, it’s crazy. Our goalkeeper hardly saw anything. It’s sad, but like I said, it is what it is. Djurgården drew the longest straw.

Speaking of Djurgården, Theo Bergvall, who joined Dif from BP together with younger brother Lucas in December 2022, will return to the Blue Stripes this winter – but it is not guaranteed that it will be so.

– According to the contract, I will, but it remains to be seen, he says confidentially.

Do you mean that you have other interests or that BP wants to keep you?
– We’ll see…
