Thelander’s future is in place – Go to history

Now his future is in place.

It is – as Nordjyske previously wrote – that Silkeborg IF will benefit from the defender.

This is stated by the club.

– In continuation of several injuries among our centre-backs, we have felt a need to strengthen the width in our central defence. We have been looking for a profile that needed a short approach and adaptation, and thus preferably a player with knowledge of the 3F Superligaen. We think that we get it all with Rasmus Thelander, who has also previously worked with both Kent Nielsen and Nicolai Larsen. In addition, Rasmus is an experienced player with a strong character, which we expect will contribute to the strong environment that already exists in our squad. We are looking forward to seeing Rasmus in the red SIF jersey, sports director Jesper Stüker tells silkeborgif.com.

Rasmus Thelander reunites in Silkeborg IF with head coach Kent Nielsen. The two have previously worked together in AaB.

– I wouldn’t have said yes if I didn’t think I fit in. It is a well-playing team and I know Kent’s ideas. I look forward to working under him, says Thelander.

– I have played with Bakiz and Andreas Poulsen before. I look forward to seeing them. And then there is Nicolai Larsen, with whom I have played since we were children in Herlev. We both played in the field until Nicolai got too sick.

Initially, Rasmus Thelander has been given a contract for the rest of 2024.
