“Even wars have rules, this one seems to have very few, Israel‘s explanations for the attacks are not convincing.” This is what Andrea Tenenti, spokesperson for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil), spoke in an interview with La Stampa. The fighting “in some cases is very close, last week the Israelis were a few meters from the Irish base, and even the Italian outposts 1-31 and 1-32A, close to the Blue Line, were also hit by the Israelis. For what reason? Hitting the cameras doesn’t mean hitting Hezbollah, hitting the lighting inside a base or hitting a turret inside the UN headquarters injuring soldiers is a targeted attack. Kinetic activities are increasingly close. especially since the forces of the Jewish State entered and when they told us to leave the bases near the Blue Line, which – Tenenti recalls – we did not do”.
Meanwhile, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health declared that at least 15 people were killed in the latest attacks carried out by Israel on two areas in the north of the country and one in the south of the capital. Nine people were reportedly killed and 15 injured in an “Israeli enemy attack” on the village of Maaysrah, located north of Beirut. The ministry also reported two people killed, four wounded and unidentified “body parts” recovered following an Israeli attack in Deir Bella, near the town of Batroun in northern Lebanon. Four people were killed and 18 injured in an attack in Barja, south of Beirut. Israel also struck the southern city of Nabatieh, where eight people were reported injured.
