Chennai: A woman has been arrested for stealing from a country with a pre-arranged timetable. The thief is Aarti Dev Nani Bhagwandas from Mumbai. He was arrested in Chennai with the help of Kilpauk medical students.
Last year, two-quarters of a sovereign of gold was stolen from a medical college hostel. The young woman was charged with theft in a similar manner this year. Create a timetable and schedule theft, and if a burglary is committed in one place, the burglary will be repeated following the appointed time – this is the method of theft, Kilpauk police said.
A woman was found suspiciously near the hostel in the CCTV footage but might not be apprehended. With this, the students spread the CCTV footage through various WhatsApp groups. Aarti, who was on her way to a children’s hospital in Egmore on Thursday, was identified and detained by medical students. Kilpauk was then handed over to police.
During interrogation, Aarti prepared a timetable and traveled across the country, confessing to the robbery. Aarti told police that it is common to escape to another state immediately following committing theft in one place.
