The Theater Group of University of Patras Employees continues for a few more performances from yesterday Thursday, February 15 2024 at the “Agora” theater, Bertolt Brecht’s “Pentara Opera”, one of the greatest works of the 20th century. An iconic work that has been translated into 18 languages, which remains always relevant and which stood out because of Brecht’s view of society. A look that satirizes and castigates in a masterful way the corruption of society, the destructive role of money and the control order of the ruling class.
In the performance, the main axis of the story is brought to life, influenced by elements of social criticism and satire, as is the nature of this work. Bosses and beggars, mobsters and patrons, clients or workers in Soho cabarets remind us that life is an adventure and it is subversive.
The performance that satirizes, worries but above all entertains with prose, music, dance and song, conveys the message that each of us can go through different positions, phases and situations in our lives whether we want to or not. Either socially or personally.
The wheel of life turns but no one knows where it will lead. As the author says in his text “…what is like this today… Tomorrow, it will be different…”.
