Only the skeleton with the imposing concrete beams remains of the tennis hall. The cold concrete walls were covered with biological insulating materials and with structured wooden walls. In front of the entrance to the “Moment” is a large sculpture by the sculptor Wander Bertoni, the “Sun Worshiper”.
The house is surrounded by a long terrace overlooking Lake Herrensee. The entrance area can be used as a foyer with bar for events and as a meeting room for seminars. A film studio with a green box is housed in the former squash room.
The event space can be divided four times using mobile walls. The 2,400 square meter new event and rehearsal center “Moment” was built by Litschauer and other Waldviertel companies.
Theater maker Zeno Stanek is happy to say that everything was built in a sustainable way: “We are energy self-sufficient and have geothermal energy that we use. We have installed a very large photovoltaic system on the roof, the largest in the region. We use it to generate more electricity than we need. The underfloor heating ensures well-tempered rooms. Only materials that are sustainable and ecological were used.”

From theater maker to manager
Zeno Stanek, the well-known director and theater manager, is now also the hotel and events manager. Far beyond the state of Lower Austria, he made Litschau known as the northernmost town in the republic with the “Schrammel.Klang.Festival”, to which he later added the theater festival “HIN&WEG”.
The Herrensee-Theater, the new “Moment” and the “Theater- und Feriendorf Königsleitn” are not only in the immediate vicinity – they form an artistic and touristic unit, which Zeno Stanek is now in charge of.
The circus school also moved to Litschau
4.5 million euros were invested in the “Moment” event and rehearsal center. Together with the investor Gerhard Kerbler and funded by the state agency ecoplus, the “Feriendorf Königsleitn” was also bought and integrated into the theater concept. Film or theater teams can rent the 56 apartments, but seminar and wedding guests, school groups or festival visitors should also be addressed.
A special room at “Moment” is the “Attic of Fantasy”, which contains more than 1,000 props and costumes that can be worked with. Barbara Rosenberger’s circus school with several circus wagons and a large, colorful tent is now on the site of the “Moment.” Before that there was a school in Drosendorf (Horn district).
