“I have no cause to defend or message to deliver. What interests me regarding theater? Propose a work that is very defined on a formal level, but very open in terms of meaning so that each spectator can tell their own story.” Jérémie Nicolet may well have been born with the century, on November 20, 2000, but he is not very “2023”. While several of his contemporaries are reconnecting with protest theater and taking to the stages to denounce gender inequalities, racism or climate attacks, the young actor does not feel carried by “none of these missions”, even if he welcomes this mobilization.
