What began as an argument between two teenagers culminated in an act of violence that claimed the life of a student and left a school community in grief and confusion. The attack occurred in a common area of the school, where the attacker seriously injured the young man in the abdomen and groin.

The events that led to the death of the 14-year-old occurred within the premises of the Villemar El Carmen school, in Fontibón, Bogotá. According to testimonies from family members, a 14-year-old girl, with whom the young man was allegedly in a romantic relationship, stabbed him after an argument.
The young man, who received three stab wounds, one of them in the femoral artery, was rushed to the El Tintal hospital, where he fought for his life in the Intensive Care Unit but due to the severity of his injuries, his death was confirmed on September 25.
The news shocked students, teachers and family members, while authorities are trying to clarify what happened.

The victim’s family claims that adequate measures were not taken to deal with the emergency, which has increased the frustration and pain they feel in the face of this irreparable loss. They said that the principal allegedly ordered the crime scene to be cleaned up before the police arrived and that the family members were not allowed to obtain evidence of what happened.
The school, for its part, said it had activated all emergency protocols and was collaborating with the Police for Children and Adolescents to clarify what happened.
